Take butter in a mixing
bowl, add sugar and eggs and whisk till light and fluffy.
Add flour, vanilla
essence and baking powder and mix well. Add milk and mix well.
Grease a cake tin with
a little butter. Sprinkle half the brown sugar, cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder. Top it with apple and sprinkle the remaining brown sugar, cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder.
Put the batter in the
cake tin and tap gently. Place the tin in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes.
Bring the tin out of the
oven and let it cool a bit before demoulding it onto a serving platter.
Dilute the jam with a
little water and put it into a piping bag. Pipe large circles on the surface of the cake and put a little blob in the centre of each circle. Serve.
