Ingredients

  • Raita
  • Spinach (palak), blanched and chopped ¼ cup
  • Carrot (gajar), grated ½ cup
  • Yogurt 1½ cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Aloo jeera
  • Medium potatoes (aloo), boiled, peeled and diced 3 to 4
  • Cumin seeds 1½ tsps
  • Cumin powder 1½ tsps
  • Oil 2 tsps
  • Ginger, finely chopped ½ tsp
  • Garlic, finely chopped 1 tsp
  • Green chillies, finely chopped 1 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 3 tsps
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Medium tomato, roughly chopped 1
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Palak aur Gajar ka Raita & Aloo Jeera (Stepwise Photos)

Method

  1. To make raita, mix spinach, carrot, yogurt and salt in a bowl and mix well. Sprinkle black pepper powder and chill in the refrigerator before serving.
  2. To make aloo jeera, heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour.
  3. Add ginger, garlic, green chillies, potatoes and 2 tsps coriander leaves and mix.
  4. Add cumin powder, turmeric powder, tomato, salt and ¼ cup water and mix well. Cook till all the moisture is absorbed.
  5. Transfer into a serving dish, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
